It's been years since I've graduated from UCI, but I still find myself wanting a sando from Le Dip every now and then. My go-to was and still is the chicken mushroom broccoli with the HEAVENLY garlic sauce. I would put that on everything if they sold the sauce by itself. My second choice would be the bacon chicken club. I usually do the 5 or 9 inch combo which comes with a sandwich, chips, and soft drink.
There's nothing fancy schmancy about Le Dip and their food but it always brings back happy college memories. Prices haven't changed much either and I am just glad that it is still here and thriving despite all the changes around UTC. -

Oh, this place brings me such NOSTALGIA! This was my favorite restaurant for breakfast, lunch, or dinner back when I was a student at uci. I'm glad that it's still here.
My favorite thing at Le Diplomate is the CHICKEN, BROCOLLI, MUSHROOM sandwich with garlic aioli! The sauce is so garlicky and the chicken goes well with mushroom and broccoli! I love how the bread is also toasted so that you get a nice crunch with each bite. A full size sandwich is only $7ish!
I've also had the breakfast ham, egg and cheese croissant which is also quite tasty since the croissant is so buttery. The breakfast croissants are huge though so it usually lasts me for lunch.
Overall, le Diplomate cafe is a great lunch spot to go to if you're craving a good sandwich. Definitely recommend! -

Happy hour deal (3-6 I believe) is really something special! The garlic chicken sandwich, soda, and chips all for $6 is a steal. The garlic chicken sandwich is solid if you need a quick snack or if you want an early dinner.
It's located in the University Town Center next to T-mobile and Nekter. Pretty good study spot with tables for 4 people and Sharetea across from Le Dip. -

The employees here are very friendly. The service here is always great and the food comes out pretty quickly, even when it's on the busier side.
I personally think their Chicken Garlic is amazing. It's just bread, chicken, garlic sauce and swiss cheese. Adding the sriracha to it makes it even better, and the tang helps cut through the fattiness of the garlic sauce. The garlic sauce itself is pretty creamy and a bit heavy, so you've been warned. The other sandwiches I've tried don't really compare, but it does lack veggies.
Their sea salt coffee is okay, nothing phenomenal. It definitely costs more than their vietnamese coffee. So I'd say the vietnamese coffee is a better choice, considering both the flavor and the price.
The prices are pretty fair, it's among the cheaper options if you exclude the fast food chains like In-n-Out, Chipotle, etc. -

Came here for some delicious sandwiches back from the college days and it's still as good as it was before!
I came around 6:30 PM Sunday (half an hour before closing) and they were really nice about it. Parking is easy; there's lots of spaces; just be sure to follow the rules.
I ordered the Chicken Eggplant sandwich and it's the best. I love how garlic-y it is and how creamy it tastes. The baguette it's served in is soft and chewy, which is great considering how some places serve hard baguette sandwiches. I like to use sriracha sauce to add some kick to the sandwich.
Bae got the Chicken Cordon-Bleu. It's pretty much a ham, cheese sandwich with the same garlic sauce. He didn't like how garlic-y the sandwiches are, but I'm a huge fan still. I guess the conclusion is that you gotta love garlic sauce!
The service is nice here, and the sandwiches usually come out in 15-30 minutes. People were apologetic coming in around closing time, but the cashier was insistent that they order anyways. It's nice that they really respect their opening times and are kind about it.
